Mapped: TfL’s property and land empire ripe for redevelopment – from Tube stations to Thames piers

Transport for London (TfL) is turning property mogul after identifying 50 locations it will develop into properties for homes and retail over the next decade.

Its first planning applications for residential developmets have now been made (at Nine Elms, Northwood and Parsons Green), starting the firing gun on development of the 10m sq ft of the total 200m sq ft of land it owns across London

Three more of the 50 sites have been revealed so far – Oxford Streeet, Harrow on the Hill and Kidbrooke – and that leaves another 600 sites across London potentially in the frame- but where will these properties be?

Other new developments may be near or within TfL’s existing locations such as Tube stations and bus depots, adjacent to existing TfL buildings or on unused land.

Explore the map below to eye up TfL’s property portfolio and the locations which might be ripe for development. If you're on a mobile, pinch to zoom or swipe to the right of the map to scroll past it.
