Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Our mission

Morning Wire exists to provide accurate, independent reporting and commentary on European business, politics and public affairs. We serve readers who need reliable information to make decisions — not traffic or engagement metrics.

Story selection

Stories are selected on the basis of news value, relevance to our European business and political audience, and editorial judgment. We cover developments across European markets, institutions, and economies. We do not publish stories in exchange for payment, advertising relationships, or access to sources. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial considerations.

Sources and accuracy

News articles are based on publicly available information, direct sources, official statements, and attributed third-party reporting. Where we rely on a single source for a factual claim, we say so. Where claims are disputed, we report the dispute. We do not publish unverified allegations as fact.

Opinion and commentary

Opinion articles and columns are labelled clearly and reflect the views of the named author, not the editorial position of Morning Wire. Opinion pieces go through the same accuracy check as news — they can express a view, but not misstate facts.

Sponsored content and advertising

Morning Wire does not currently publish sponsored or branded content. Display advertising, if carried, is clearly separated from editorial content. No advertiser has influence over story selection, framing, or editorial decisions.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to assist with research, summarisation and production workflows. All published content is reviewed and edited by a human editor before publication. AI-generated text is never published verbatim as original reporting.

Conflicts of interest

Journalists and editors are expected to disclose any potential conflict of interest to the editor before writing about a subject in which they have a personal or financial stake. We do not cover companies in which editorial staff hold undisclosed financial interests.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy for how to report an error and how we handle corrections.
