Fans of a certain Martini-loving, gun-toting secret agent are in for a treat today.

We’ll be getting our first proper glimpse of James Bond making his big screen appearance for the 24th time in the first trailer for upcoming film Spectre.

Starring Daniel Craig as Bond for the third time, Sherlock star Andrew Scott, Django Unchained Oscar winner Christophe Waltz, and Bond girls Monica Belluci and Lea Seydoux, the film makers have hinted at what to expect.

“A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind Spectre.”

All will be revealed at 11.45pm (prime Martini hour) at 007.com

We have already had a bit of a sneak peek at the happenings on set in this clip.

But the latest video is the first official trailer for the film, due to be released on 6 November and directed by Sam Mendes.

We did also get a teaser poster for Spectre, featuring Craig's Bond having ditched the suit for a Steve Jobs-inspired black polo neck.

Craig's Bond will no doubt increase his kill-count in the latest film, looking to overtake leader Pierce Brosnan, who may not have been the most popular Bond actor, but made up for it with a 135 hits on bad guys in just four movies.

After the huge success of Skyfall – the biggest Bond of all time, raking in a tidy sum of $1.1bn (£739m) – producers will be hoping for Spectre to surpass that, so expect the trailer to be an action-packed cliffhanger teaser leaving you wanting more.
