TfL Tube strike August 2015 travel advice: Seven apps to help you travel around London on Wednesday and Thursday
Of course there are many a taxi apps to be used for getting around London during the strike, but here are some apps that will help you travel during the Tube strike that may be a little less busy.
Moovit
This public transport app gives you access to real-time travel info, based on crowdsourced and transport agency data, meaning you know which places are becoming crowded and where to avoid.
It tells you about incidents and gives you notifications from operators about your route, and can even tell you if there are available seats.
Just Park
If you are considering driving into London (be warned, it may be busier on the roads) you're going to need to find a spot to park.
Just Park lets you pre-book a spot near where you need to be. Now they've put together a Tube map that let's you find, and book, the spots closest to the Tube station you usually get off at.

Liftshare
If you don't have a car, but it's the best option for you, then hitching a lift may be the answer. No need for that hitchhikers thumb though, Liftshare hooks you up with people who are already heading the same way as you. Simply type in the postcodes of your departure and arrival locations, and see who can give you a lift.
Citymapper
Most apps give you the various different methods of transport available for your journey, which is great – unless one of them is not actually working.
The clever folk at Citymapper have, however, updated the app to not show any Tube journeys, giving you only routes which actually wor during the Strike.
London Bus Checker
Waiting for a bus is the worst – it's the not knowing that kills you. But with this app, you can avoid hanging around unnecessarily by checking exactly when the bus you're planning to get arrives.

Santander cycles
Yes, the Boris bike as they're more commonly known. There will be many more located in central London to help people get around, and this free app tells you where there are Boris bikes free for use, no need to trek to the cycle station only to find there are none left for hire.

Another journey planning app, but this has the added benefit of including Uber ordering – it's nice to have options after all.
