Tube strike August 2015: Night Tube odds-on for delayed launch
Odds are the Night Tube's intended launch date of 12 September – the day pencilled in by TfL and more than a few partygoers – will be missed, according to bookies.
The fate of the long-awaited service hangs in the balance as unions representing London Underground drivers remain at loggerheads with Transport for London and City Hall.
Now the odds make it more likely that the inaugural Night Tube journey will take place after that date at 8/11. Ladbrokes says it's evens that the service will depart its first station on 12 September.
Boris Johnson failed to commit to that launch date today, although TfL is "operationally ready", telling LBC: "I'm not too fussed about the start date. I've said we'll get it in this Autumn and we shall. Autumn is not yet upon us… it's still the summer."
"When it comes to further disruption to the daytime service all bets are certainly off. As such it's now looking likely the Night Tube is subject to delays with the potential for a suspension all year," said Ladbrokes Alexander Donohue.
It's offering odds of 4/1 that there will be no Night Tube journeys at all this year.
