Uber’s rivals Ola, Didi Kuaidi, Lyft and GrabTaxi gang up on the rideshare app with “global alliance”
Four of Uber's biggest competitors are ganging up on the cab hailing app, in a global alliance which they say will reach nearly half of the world's population.
Taxi-hailing apps Ola, Didi Kuaidi, Lyft and GrabTaxi said they plan to start rolling out joint partner products in the first quarter of next year.

Uber has courted controversy in a number of cities worldwide, with established taxi trades complaining it has an unfair advantage and isn't properly regulated.
"Together, these companies now cover nearly all of southeast Asia, India, China and the US, reaching nearly 50 per cent of the world's population," the four companies said in a press release.
"Through this global alliance, the companies will collaborate and leverage each other's technology, local market knowledge, and business resources so that international travellers can seamlessly access local-on-demand rides by using the same application they use at home."
"Each country will handle mapping, routing and payments through a secure API, providing the best global experience for the millions of travellers that cross between India, Southeast Asia, China and the US every year."
