EU referendum: Brexit support growing – but Remain retains lead in new Survation poll

Support for a so-called Brexit is growing – but Remain has retained its lead.

This is the finding of a new poll of more than 1,000 Britons by Survation.

Some 35 per cent of its respondents said they would vote to leave the European Union. This was up from 33 per cent when the poll was last carried out on 20 February.

Remain retained an advantage, though, with 46 per cent of people saying they would vote to stay in the EU. This was down from 48 per cent in February.

Some 19 per cent of those surveyed said they were undecided.

Excluding the undecided, Remain was leading with 57 per cent compared with Leave's 43 per cent.

Survation spoke on the telephone to 1,006 UK adults across the UK between 17-19 March.

They were asked: “Imagine there was a referendum tomorrow with the question “Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?” How would you vote?"

A poll by TNS last week reported that the Leave and Remain campaigns were neck-and-neck on 36 per cent.

Another poll last week, by ORB, gave Brexit the lead.

There are 90 days to go until the referendum.
