Craig Wright won’t prove he’s Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto
The man who claimed to reveal himself as the secret inventor of Bitcoin has now backtracked on promises to prove he really is the person known as Satoshi Nakamoto.
Craig Wright made headlines on Monday after outing himself as the unknown person behind the cryptocurrency, but many in the Bitcoin community have raised an eyebrow about the Australian's claims.
Gavin Andresen, the chief scientist of the Bitcoin Foundation and one of the most well known in the Bitcoin world, himself backtracked yesterday on his original view that Wright was Nakamoto.

In a new blog post today titled "I'm sorry", Wright responded to calls for more proof of his identity which he had promised to provide.
"I believed that I could put years of anonymity and hiding behind me. But, as the events of this week unfolded and I prepared to publish the proof of access to the earliest keys, I broke. I do not have the courage. I cannot."
Wright also apologised to Andresen and fellow Bitcoin scientist Jon Matonis, saying while "they were not deceived" he hoped their credibility was "not irreparably tainted by my actions".
It looks like the real identity of Nakamoto is likely to remain a mystery.
