Football betting: Hazard could give Wales a moule-ing on way to Golden Boot

Chelsea fans must be wondering which version of Eden Hazard will return to their club for the next Premier League campaign.

He had a forgettable season but, going into Friday's Euro 2016 quarter-final against Wales, he’s finally showing the form that won him PFA Player of the Season for the 2014/15 campaign.

It’s bad timing for the Welsh, who’ll need to play out of their skins to keep him under control.

Even if they do I don’t think it’ll be enough, and I fancy Belgium to overturn both Wales and probable semi-final opponents Portugal.

That makes a buy of their 60.5 points in Sporting Index’s outright market attractive, with 75 points awarded for the losing finalist and 100 points for the winner.

With Hazard, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo all well in form, the race for the Golden Boot has also piqued my interest.

Bale, along with Spain’s Alvaro Morata and France’s Antoine Griezmann, leads the way on three goals – though Morata can’t add to his tally as Spain are out.

Hazard is now off the mark and, remember, Griezmann is only up there following a brace in his previous match.

The Belgian is at 33/1 in the outright top scorer market, which might be asking a bit much – but with potentially two more matches beckoning, I fancy him in Sporting Index’s Golden Boot index.

Buying him at seven points could prove worthwhile in a market that promises five points for eighth place, right up to 100 points for topping the charts.

Pointers

Buy Belgium outright index 60.5, Sporting Index

Buy Hazard Golden Boot 7, Sporting Index
