Decision on City’s tallest skyscraper One Undershaft pushed back until Autumn
A decision on giving the go-ahead for what would become the square mile's tallest skyscraper was delayed this afternoon.
One Undershaft – nicknamed the Trellis – is pitted to soar more than 300m just next to the Cheesegrater, but its construction has been put on hold for a few more months as the final kinks in the planning application are ironed out.
In a statement this afternoon Canada corporation said: "There are still a number of detailed matters being discussed. We expect the planning application for 1 Undershaft to be determined in the coming months."
The corporation downplayed the seriousness of the delay and said a decision would be made in the autumn rather than the summer, as initially expected.
The 73 storey building is due to be built by Singaporean firm Aroland Holdings. It would become the second tallest building in London after The Shard.
