11 business podcasts you need to listen to on your summer holiday
Podcasts are becoming an increasingly popular medium – partly thanks to the success off the likes of Serial, but also because they're one of the easiest ways to take in information.

1. TedTalks Business
A classic but a goodie, Ted from the likes of Uber chief executive Travis Kalanick to Tesla founder Elon Musk, giving away their secrets, tips and insights into how to be a better entrepreneur.
2. Freakonomics Radio
Freakonomics was an instant bestseller when it was published back in 2007. Since 2012, author Stephen J Dubner has hosted a weekly podcast looking at the quirkier side of economics – from the concept of "talent" to exploring how one US housing project turned around kids' lives. This is economics, but not as you know it.
3. The Tim Ferriss Show
In his first book, the 4-Hour Workweek, Ferriss – a martial arts enthusiast who speaks five languages – taught people how to outsource their life. Now Ferriss, dubbed "the world's best human guinea pig", is finding out how others have made their lives more productive. With 177 episodes and counting, guests include the likes of Malcolm Gladwell, Seth Godin and Jamie Foxx.
4. LSE Podcasts
The London School of Economics is one of the world's best universities – and now you can get all the benefits without the £9,000-a-year fee, by listening to its podcasts. So far, the number of episodes is limited – but with subjects such as US foreign policy and the nuances of political polling, it's worth a listen.
5. Planet Money
This weekly podcast from US public radio station NPR looks at topics as diverse as female computing pioneers, how America got hooked on heroin – and, naturally, Brexit, but from a US point of view.
6. How to Start a Startup
If you've ever felt starting a business is a bit of a lonely endeavour, this podcast is like a virtual brain trust. With entrepreneurs and tech types like Peter Thiel, Marc Andreessen, Reid Hoffman and Dustin Moskovitz all providing their expertise over the course of 20 episodes, this series, by US seed accelerator Y Combinator, is like the group of very clever friends you never had.
7. Hack the Entrepreneur
Punk rock drummer and entrepreneur Jon Nastor presents this thrice-weekly podcast, interviewing people from every walk of life – from internet celebrity Seth Godin to marketing legend Guy Kawasaki – to find out what makes them tick. With almost 250 episodes, it'll give you something to listen to all summer long.
8. Killik Explains: Finance
If you want to improve your knowledge of finance, check out these podcasts from stockbroker Killik & Co. Partner Tim Bennett explains concepts as diverse as Libor, tapered pensions and negative interest rates in short, sharp blasts.
9. Disruptive Entrepreneur
Rob Moore was a struggling artist when he decided to plough all his remaining cash into a property in Peterborough. Now he has a property empire, as well as a podcast, which alternates between interviews with entrepreneurs such as Green & Blacks founder Jo Fairly and his own views on the world. Or you could just listen to Morning Wire's own interview with Moore.
10. Chat with Traders
Podcasts aren't just limited to entrepreneurship – 25-year-old Aussie Aaron Fifield details the strategies behind his exploits on the (virtual) trading floor, as well as interviewing other traders, on his weekly Chat With Traders podcast.
