Move over, craft beer. For the first time in five centuries, the world's oldest brand of port wine is now going to be available to buy online at a major UK retailer.

Top-tier port brand Kopke's 1996 vintage has launched on Marks & Spencer online for £30 for a single bottle and can also be bought as a case of six.

Kopke, which is part of the Sogevinus group, is a full-bodied blend of mulberries, candied peel, honey and roasted almonds.

Premium drinks have had a resurgence in the last year, though this has mainly been confined to wines and spirits.

"We are really excited to be able to offer customers this Colheita. Kopke are specialists in vintage Tawnies and we were impressed by the breadth of vintages they had to offer and the styles which are both rich and nuanced at the same time," Marks and Spencer buyer Dror Nativ said.

"We are proud to see this historic Portuguese brand available at M&S, a much loved British retailer, just in time for Christmas," Tania Branco Oliveira, communications director at Sigevinus said.
