TfL staff are collecting coats for the homeless this winter
With temperatures falling and darkness descending earlier in the day, it’s a difficult time of year for people sleeping rough on the streets of London.
But there's a way you can help out while on your morning commute.
Transport for London is teaming up with the homelessness charity Wrap up London to organise the collection of coats for homeless people, and will also donate coats to the elderly.
All you need to do is dig out unwanted coats and take them to your nearest major tube station.
From Monday 7 November to Wednesday 9 November, between 7am and 11am, you’ll be able to drop off coats to staff members at the following stations:
- Kings Cross
- Victoria
- Waterloo
- Canary Wharf
- London Bridge
- Highbury & Islington
- Euston
- Liverpool Street

After surprisingly high temperatures at the end of October, a cold front moved in across London, causing temperatures to dip to as low as 1°C overnight, and it's unlikely the days are getting any warmer from now on.
The collection will provided much needed warmth for those unfortunate enough to be without a roof over their head or struggling to pay energy bills this winter.
