Black cab drivers are holding a fresh protest in London
London's black cab drivers will hold a protest in Westminster on Tuesday as they call on the government to battle traffic congestion and pollution in the capital.
Cabbies represented by the United Cabbies Group (UCG), London Cab Drivers Club and RMT are expected to bring Whitehall to a standstill at 2pm.
Drivers are calling on the government to launch a public inquiry into Transport for London's (TfL) management of traffic and transport infrastructure and look at why it has failed to prevent London from "grinding to a halt" and stop pollution levels from rising.

It comes as the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan urged the government to stop "passing the buck" on the capital's air pollution problem.
However, cab drivers are laying blame for the probelm at TfL's door and is now seeking cross-party support for the investigation, otherwise it would turn into "a political football".
Len Martin of UCG said the number of drivers protesting was expected to be "in the thousands".
Cab drivers have held several protests in the capital in recent years, many in response to Uber and its regulation on the capital. However, Martin said the latest demonstration did not have anything to do with the regulation of private hire vehicles (PHVs).

"It's about congestion, pollution, public health and loss of revenue," he said.
"Because of the state of the roads, London is grinding to a halt, air quality is at an all-time low. And it's affecting everyone in London, not just cabbies. It's [the situation] becoming untenable… It's getting worse and needs to be looked at with a public inquiry."
