An ex-White House adviser and two banking bosses have been recruited to join Liam Fox’s trade ministry
A former adviser to George W. Bush and two senior bankers have been recruited to advise Liam Fox's trade ministry, following former IoD director general Simon Walker.
Walker's appointment emerged last month, but now Morning Wire can reveal three further non-exec hires at the government department.
Former Bush adviser and economist Pippa Malmgren leads the recruits, which also include GE Capital Bank Europe chair Noel Harwerth and Lloyds Bank Foundation chief financial and reporting officer Julie Currie.

Walker will serve as the lead non-executive board member at the Department for International Trade, while Currie will chair the ministry's audit and risk committee and Harwerth additionally chairs the UK Export Finance Board as chair.
Under Bush, Malmgren worked on trade issues, while both Harwerth and Currie bring more than 20 years experience of the financial sector.
All four are expected to be in place by January, and will advise on strategy, performance and departmental management.

Walker said: “As Britain seeks to forge a new place in the world, ensuring our businesses are able to trade easily across the globe will be central to our economic success.
“The views of companies, employees and the wider community all need to be heard as new arrangements are established with trading partners in Europe and further afield.”
Fox added: “These highly experienced appointments bring further trade, business, financial and international policy expertise to the DIT Departmental Board.”
