Sadiq’s controversial Night Tsar has issued an apology to six London Tory councils
Sadiq Khan’s controversial new Night Tsar has apologised for a back-catalogue of offensive tweets in a bid to build bridges with Conservative-controlled London boroughs.
Amy Lame’s appointment has been mired in criticism since it was announced in early November.
In particular, questions have been raised over Lame using Twitter to brand Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson “scum”, celebrate the death of Margaret Thatcher and fantasise about “bitch-slapping” David Cameron and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

Six London Conservative councils wrote to Lame requesting she “put [her] political bias to one side” and now the Mayor’s Night Tsar has responded with an apology.
Khan’s staff revealed that Lame had authored a letter to the leaders of Westminster, Wandsworth, Bexley, Kensington & Chelsea, Hillingdon and Kingston boroughs yesterday morning.
In addition, Lame has agreed to delete the offending comments from her Twitter profile.
A City Hall spokesperson said: "We are confident that Amy will have an excellent relationship with councillors across London from all political parties.
"She has already spoken with the Conservative lead for public protection at Westminster Council, will be having discussions with Conservative councillors at Kensington and Chelsea shortly and will be meeting with other conservative councillors over the coming days and weeks."

It comes after Morning Wire revealed an aide to Khan had blocked London assembly members from grilling Lame directly over her plans for the capital as Night Tsar.
London Conservative Shaun Bailey had requested Lame attend the economy committee, but it was blocked by chair Fiona Twycross.
Twycross, appointed chair of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority by Khan, ruled it would interrupt “vital work” scrutinising Brexit.
