Eurostar tickets go on sale for new high-speed London-Bordeaux line that cuts journey time by an hour
Eurostar will open ticket sales for a new high-speed route from London to Bordeaux tomorrow.
The rail service will give wine fans something to toast as it slashes journey time by more than an hour, providing quicker access to Bordeaux's renowned vineyards of Saint-Emilion and Medo.

Tickets will be available from £110 return and valid for travel from 2 July, when a new 188-mile high-speed line opens between Tours and Bordeaux, which will take the Paris to Bordeaux section of the journey from three hours 15 minutes, to two hours five minutes.
By 2019, the Paris to Bordeaux line is expected to have another 2.3m passengers per year.
There is still a change of station involved in Paris, from Gare du Nord to Montparnasse, but the total journey should now take just under six hours. Eurostar said services will be specially timed to ensure a fast transfer between its service and the local high-speed train.
