Tesla boss Elon Musk could face legal action after Thai cave rescuer ‘pedo’ comments
Tesla chief executive Elon Musk could face legal action after suggesting on Twitter that one of the divers in the Thai cave rescue was a paedophile.
Musk, who had provided a mini-submarine to help with the rescue, attacked British diver Vern Unsworth after he described Musk’s contribution as a “PR stunt”.
Musk hit back on Twitter, claiming his mini-submarine would have worked and describing Unsworth as a “pedo guy”.
Speaking to the Guardian today Unsworth, 63, said he was "astonished and very angry" about Musk's remarks.
When asked by reporters if he would consider taking legal action Unsworth said “Yes, it’s not finished”.
Musk initially defended his tweet after Twitter users pointed out he was criticising one of the key divers in the rescue operation to save the 12 members of the Wild Boars youth football team and their coach from the flooded cave complex.
Musk tweeted “Bet ya a signed dollar it's true” in response to the criticism – but later deleted that tweet and the initial tweets inferring that Unsworth was a paedophile.
