Earl’s Court incident: Person on track airlifted to safety as station evacuated
A person appears to have been airlifted to safety after an incident at Earl’s Court Station this morning, with thousands of commuters evacuated from the station as it was temporarily closed.
British Transport Police (BTP) reportedly said a person was struck by a train at the station, but it is not clear whether they were jumped or pushed.
A dramatic video captured by one person on Twitter showed a London Air Ambulance helicopter hovering outside the station, while another image showed it having landed on a nearby building.

BTP officers were called to Earl’s Court station at 8.50am after a person was found on the track, a spokesperson said.
The London Fire Brigade also attended, as did the London Ambulance Service (LAS).
"We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated a man and took him to hospital," an LAS spokesperson said.
Transport for London (TfL) confirmed the station was closed temporarily this morning, though only for around 10 minutes. It reopened at 9.26am.
The incident caused severe delays on the District Line and Piccadilly Line, which are ongoing.
In a separate incident, the LAS pronounced person on a track at Chiswick Park Underground Station dead at the scene after attending at 8.55am.
"Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family. This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious," a BTP spokesperson said.
