US President Donald Trump set to visit UK 3-5 June, Buckingham Palace confirms
US President Donald Trump will visit the UK for an official state visit in early June, Buckingham Palace has said.

Trump will be accompanied by his wife, Melania, between Monday 3 June and Wednesday 5 June, the Palace confirmed this morning.

Trump faced mass protests during his last unofficial visit to the UK in July last year.
The same group has already pledged a repeat of the protests, which included a massive blimp depicting Trump as a baby.
Further details of his visit are set to be announced in due course, the Palace said.
Prime Minister Theresa May said: “The UK and United States have a deep and enduring partnership that is rooted in our common history and shared interests.
“We do more together than any two nations in the world and we are both safer and more prosperous because of our cooperation.

“The state visit is an opportunity to strengthen our already close relationship in areas such as trade, investment, security and defence, and to discuss how we can build on these ties in the years ahead.”
The White House said Trump will meet the Queen and hold talks with May, before travelling with the Prime Minister for D-Day commemorations in Portsmouth then Normandy.
French President Emmanuel Macron will also meet Trump when he is in France.
The trip follows Trump’s first visit as President to the UK last summer, which sparked protests in towns and cities across the UK.

However, the two-day trip saw Trump avoid any demonstrations. Instead he joined May at Sandhurst military academy and visited the Queen with Melania at Windsor Castle.
At the time he called her “an incredible woman”, adding: “She has really never made a mistake. You don't see, like, anything embarrassing.”

Trump also joined the Prime Minister at her Chequers countryside residence.
Policing costs amounted to £18m for Trump's last trip to the UK, around four times the cost of policing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding.
