Accrington Stanley handed West Ham tie after stunning Burnley in EFL Cup
Fourth tier side Accrington Stanley, who sit 86th out of England’s 92 league clubs, stunned top-flight Burnley 1-0 on Wednesday night to set up an EFL Cup third-round trip to West Ham.
A Matty Pearson strike in the last minute of extra-time snatched Stanley’s first win over a Premier League club and ensured they will visit the London Stadium next month to face the Hammers.
Fulham fought back from a goal down to beat Middlesbrough 2-1 after extra-time as the Teesside team became the fourth major scalp of the round for lower league opposition.

David Nugent headed Boro in front but Julien de Sart’s second-half own goal levelled and Lasse Vigen Christensen converted Scott Malone’s cross in the 113th minute. Fulham will host Bristol City next.
The round’s other giant killers were rewarded by the draw, with West Brom’s conquerors Northampton handed a home tie against Manchester United and Gillingham, who beat Watford on Tuesday, set to travel to Tottenham.
Chelsea were dealt a tricky away tie at Premier League champions Leicester, cup holders Manchester City will visit Swansea, and Arsenal venture to Nottingham Forest.
