Bank of America staff in UK to head back to work – if they’re jabbed

Bank of America staff in the UK are expected to be back at their desks in September

Bank of America have become the latest financial institution to push staff back to the office in the UK, with employees told they can return to their desk when restrictions here are lifted.

There is a catch, however: staff must have had one Covid-19 jab.

The move means that as many as 6,500 staff could return to their office in just a fortnight.

The Bank has previously said it expects everybody back in the office by September.

The legal status around ‘no jab, no desk’ policies remains unclear and untested in court.

That hasn’t stopped many American-HQed organisations encouraging staff to come back to the office far sooner than their European counterparts.

Goldman Sachs boss David Solomon has labelled the work from home pandemic shift as “an aberration” and other Wall St. CEOs have expressed similar sentiments.

Bank of America’s move was first reported by the Mail on Sunday.
