Barclay banks on special attention
SCOTLAND openside John Barclay is looking forward to putting his reputation as one of the best back-row forwards in the game on the line against France in Paris tomorrow.
The RBS 6 Nations holders boast a talented pack including skipper Thierry Dusautoir, Julien Bonnaire and Imanol Harinordoquy, and Barclay knows he’ll be singled out for special attention – not that he’d have it any other way.
“It will maybe make my job slightly harder if teams are going to put slightly more emphasis on me,” he said. “But if they’re going to put more emphasis on one thing it’s going to be missing somewhere else.
“I’ll approach every game the same and it’s about me doing what I can do, regardless of what’s been said or what people are writing about.”
