Battersea Power Station flats to be sold with £1m-plus price tag
A SLICE of Battersea Power Station will set homebuyers back a cool £800,000 for a studio and £4m for a four bedroom flat, developers of the landmark building revealed today ahead of their launch in May.
Battersea Power Station Development Company, which was set up by its Malaysian owners, plans to build 254 flats ranging from studios to five-bedroom penthouses.
They will sit in three spots at the very top of the building – above the turbine halls and the central boiler house, with access to a 1.5 acre garden on the roof of the station.
Some of the flats will sit inside the original fabric of the red brick building. Others – known as Boiler House Square – will feature on top of the station inside a new two storey structure, with entrances through the four wash towers.
Prices jump from £1m and £1.5m for a one-bedroom and two bedroom flat to £2.7m for a three-bed home. The developers did not reveal the price of the penthouses but agents have said they could sell for tens of millions of pounds.
CEO Rob Tincknell said homes will go on sale in May and will only be marketed in London: “Homes have been designed to attract owner-occupiers who want to be at the heart of the vibrant community planned.”
