SCP Armchair
£1,508, scp.co.uk

Luxury furniture retailer SCP unveiled its new collection at this month’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, including this quietly stunning chair from Reiko Kaneko. It features a steel frame, walnut or oak arm rests, an upholstered backrest and a feather seat cushion on an upholstered pad. Its minimalist aesthetic and small footprint means it will slide seamlessly into almost any space and look like it’s been there forever. Kaneko is a Central Saint Martins-trained craftswoman best known for her glazed pottery, which is made in a studio in Stoke on Trent. She has also turned her hand to jewellery design and glass blowing.

Pierre Herme fetish cake
£19, pierreherme.com

If there is a finer cake in the land than this beautiful pistachio pound cake with raspberries, then we’re yet to try it. Please send it to us – it must be out of this world. Pierre Herme’s Cake Montebello, complete with pistachio and raspberry macaroons, is part of a limited-edition batch of eight “fetish” pound cakes, including flaky hazelnut praline in dark chocolate with roasted almonds; passion fruit, milk chocolate, sea salt and ganache; lemon zest; and coffee. They are only available in the master confectioner’s boutiques, including 13 Lowndes Street and 38 Monmouth Street, so get down there today.

Ted Baker cabin case
£185, harveynichols.com

This understated, rugged suitcase from one of our favourite menswear designers will guarantee you’re the coolest person at the baggage carousel.

Linn speakers x Harris Tweed
£9,600 (system) linn.co.uk

Audiophiles will already know about Linn’s amazing speaker systems; now you can get them a tweed jacket courtesy of Harris Tweed.

Cutler and Gross sunglasses
£290, liberty.co.uk

“I really regret buying those Cutler and Gross sunglasses” said nobody ever. These timeless “Proudlock” frames will literally never go out of style; even when the meteor has hit and we’re all living in a big cave somewhere under Greenland, there will be one guy wearing a pair of these: people will refer to him as “king” and he will be humanity’s best hope. And if that scenario doesn’t pan out – which it will – these will also look great at garden parties or when you’re walking to Pret during your lunch break.

William & Son card holder
£90, williamandson.com

Nobody does leatherware quite like William & Son, and this funky orange curved card holder will remind you every day what a good decision you made the day you bought it. Also check out the stunning Bruton St store.

Sons of London boot
£200, sonsoflondon.com

New company Sons of London wants to help you get the basics exactly right. And they do: this Chelsea boot – a wardrobe staple – is absolutely perfect. They also have four other classic styles in brown and black.

Sutor Mantellassi trainers
£385, harrods.com

Luxury Italian shoemaker Sutor Mantellassi and Scott Schuman – AKA The Sartorialist – have collaborated on this amazing trainer, which is a perfect meeting of style and comfort (available from Harrods).

Tom Dixon shot glasses
£65, mrporter.com

You may think shots are for students, but this set of copper-plated shot glasses – bearing the unmistakable air of a Tom Dixon creation – will make you think twice. Bring on the salt and lime!
