Bent puts seal on record Villa move
ASTON VILLA have smashed their transfer record by paying £18m – a fee which could eventually rise to £24m – to Sunderland for England striker Darren Bent.
Bent, who signed a four-and-a-half year deal, denied his move was motivated by money. He said: “I could could have gone to West Ham for more money but chose Spurs for footballing reasons. It’s the same here.”
