Carillion lands £200m hospital deal
London-listed support services firm Carillion has been chosen as the preferred bidder for a £200m support services contract by Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust.
The trust is one of the largest in the country and includes Queen's Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital.
Carillion chief executive, Richard Howson, commented:
We look forward to working with the Nottingham University Hospitals Trust and to using our extensive skills and experience in the health sector to support the Trust in delivering first-class patient services.
The initial contract is for a five-year period, with an option for an extension by a further three years. Carillion will provide hard and soft services such as fabric maintenance, catering, cleaning and security. The decision was taken by the NUH Trust board on on the 27 March.
