City law firm GQ Employment Law acquires smaller rival Camfords
City law firm GQ Employment Law has snapped up a smaller boutique rival Camfords for an undisclosed sum, the pair announced today.
Founded in 2010 by former Clyde & Co lawyer Richard Harvey, Camfords advises domestic and multi-national businesses and high-net worth individuals across a number of industry sectors including insurance, technology and luxury goods in the UK and overseas.
The firm will merge with GQ once the deal completes on 4 January to create a 12-strong team of lawyers based in the City.
GQ managing partner Jon Gilligan said: “This is a great development both for GQ and Camfords, and for our respective clients and people.”
“Camfords, like GQ, is focused on helping businesses to resolve complex, high value employment law issues. It also shares GQ’s desire to challenge the traditional, full service law firms and deliver legal services in a different way to enable clients to resolve difficult HR issues more quickly, simply and cost-effectively,” he added.
The deal also follows the recent hires of partner Dan Pollard and associates Natasha Adom and Raoul Parekh from Macfarlanes, Clyde & Co and Baker & McKenzie respectively.
