City Moves for 1 May – Who’s switching jobs at Mirriad, Discoverie Group and SCS Group?

Mirriad

Mirriad, the computer vision and AI platform company, has announced abBoard change as Stephan Beringer, chief executive officer, continues his strategic refocusing of the business. John Pearson is appointed to the role of non-executive chairman, with effect from 30 April. He was previously appointed as a non-executive director and chairman of the remuneration committee at Mirriad on 2 October 2017. He takes over from Roger Faxon who will remain on the Mirriad Board as a non-executive director while the board conducts a search for a new non-executive director. John has a background in advertising and a long history in the successful commercialisation of media, technology and high growth companies. He is the former chief of Virgin Radio and Virgin Radio International, director of Ginger Media, chairman of Shazam, which was sold to Apple in 2018, and co-founder of World Architecture News.com. John has current AIM experience as chair of FairFX, the successful fintech currency platform. John said: “When the prospect of chairing the company arose, I felt it was a great opportunity to join with the new management team to take the business forward. Having worked with the company since the IPO, and with Roger on recruiting Stephan and resetting our strategy, it is a natural step to take on the chairmanship.”

Discoverie Group

The board of Discoverie Group, a leading international designer, manufacturer and supplier of customised electronics to industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Clive Watson as a non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committee with effect from 2 September 2019. Clive recently retired as group finance director of Spectris, the FTSE 250 measurements and controls business, having joined their board in 2006 and is also the senior independent non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of Spirax-Sarco Engineering, the FTSE 100 industrial engineering group. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

SCS Group

SCS Group, one of the UK’s largest retailers of upholstered furniture and flooring, is pleased to announce that Angela Luger has been appointed as non-executive director with effect from Thursday 16 May 2019. Angela, née Spindler, was previously chief executive of retail businesses N Brown and The Original Factory Shop and has held senior executive positions at Debenhams, Asda and Mars. Angela is also a non-executive director at Portmeirion and the Madrid based DIA group.
