Today's City Moves cover research, airlines and asset management. Take a look at these movers and shakers:

Asia House

Ed Ratcliffe has been appointed as head of research and advisory at Asia House. Ed recently moved back to the UK after five years in the Asia region, most recently as country director of the Myanmar operations of ASEAN-focused government relations and political advisory firm, Vriens and Partners. Previously, Ed worked for international communications firm Fleishman Hillard in Hong Kong where he worked on projects in Indonesia, the Philippines, South China, Korea and Japan. Ed started his career at Fleishman Hillard EU advising clients on public affairs campaigns and engagement with the institutions of the European Union. He will head Asia House’s new research and advisory practice, which will draw on the knowledge and network built up over more than 20 years to inform and advise public and private organisations on their strategic approach to trade, investment and engagement. Asia House has launched the new service in response to increased demand for its Asia-focused market intelligence and trade and investment policy advice.

Wizz Air

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in central and eastern Europe and one of the fastest-growing airline groups in Europe, has appointed Joel Goldberg to the newly-created position of chief digital officer. Joel, currently senior director technology, Europe for Nike, will take up his position on 1 October. He will report to Stephen Jones, executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer and be responsible for the group’s e-commerce, data analytics and automation, IT innovation and IT infrastructure and services functions.

BNP Paribas Asset Management

BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Peter Abbott as head of European large cap equities, with effect from 1 October. He will be based in London and will report to Guy Davies, CIO, fundamental Active Equities. Peter will assume responsibility for the management of the European large cap equities team from Andrew King, who is leaving BNPP AM to pursue external opportunities. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Andrew has spent 18 years at BNPP AM and its predecessor companies, becoming head of European large cap equities in 2008. He will remain with the team until the end of September. Peter is one of the founding members of the European large cap equities team, having joined ABN AMRO Asset Management in 2007. With almost 35 years of investment experience, and in his previous role as senior portfolio manager, he has been a key advocate of the team’s philosophy.
