BAKER & MCKENZIE

Global law firm Baker & McKenzie has appointed Andy Moody as a partner in London. He joins in early 2016 from Eversheds. Andy has acted on a wide range of commercial disputes, focusing on internat­ional arbitration. His experience is in the energy sector where he has advised on international up­stream, downstream and renewables disputes. He has advised on a number of financial  sector and post M&A disputes, before arbitral tribunals and the courts.

LENDINVEST

Online lender for property finance, LendIn­vest, has appointed Steve Larkin, a senior real estate executive from RBS to launch the company’s first dev­elop­ment finance product for experienced property entrepreneurs. Steve joins after a 26-year career at RBS where he held a range of senior roles in real estate credit, restructuring and origination. Steve will be responsible for the structure and strategy behind LendInvest’s first official development finance offering.

DENTONS

David Collins has joined global law firm Dentons in London as leading corporate partner. Formerly managing partner of corporate at Berwin Leighton Paisner, David is a UK corporate finance practitioner who is ranked as a Band 1 individual for mid-market M&A in Chambers and is listed as a leading individual for small- and mid-cap flotations in The Legal 500. He has also been appointed as UK head of corporate and co-chair of the global M&A Group, effective from 1 January 2016.

EY

EY has appointed business development director Michael Cooke in Yorkshire to support the firm’s continued growth in the financial services sector across the north of England. Michael, who joins EY from PwC in London, brings 18 years’ business development and account management experience to the firm, having worked with some of the world’s largest financial institutions. At EY, Michael will develop new and existing relationships in the regional market to support the firm’s financial services business.

OPENLINK

John O’Malley has been appointed chief executive of the global trading and risk management firm that caters for the energy, commodities, corporate, and financial services industries. He takes over with immediate effect from Mark Greene who announced his intention to retire earlier this year. Greene will continue to serve on the board. O’Malley joins from Thoma Bravo, where he was operating partner.
