Fleming, 53, joined JM Finn in 2003 and continues to be involved with the management of client portfolios after 25 years in the investment management industry.

He has served on the SII committee for many years, most recently as vice president.

The law firm has appointed Andrew Bamber as a partner within its banking and capital markets department, focusing on growing the firm’s leveraged finance and private equity offering.

Bamber is to join the company in September from rival Allen & Overy, where he has been a senior leveraged finance partner since 2002.

Gartmore
The asset management firm has appointed Luke Newman as a portfolio manager to its UK team. Newman joins the firm today and will work with Ben Wallace on the recently-launched Gartmore UK Absolute Return and AlphaGen Octanis funds.

He has nine years of industry experience, including roles managing UK equity long only and long/short funds at Deutsche Asset Management, Foreign & Colonial and, most recently, Altima Partners.

Intermediate Capital Group
Kevin Parry has been appointed as a non–executive director at the investment firm.

Parry, aged 47, is currently chief financial officer at global asset management company Schroders and has previously held positions as chief executive of Management Consulting Group and senior partner at KPMG. He is also deputy chairman of the Royal Wanstead Children’s Foundation.

IGF Group
The independent commercial finance group has appointed Nick Macdonald as a consultant.

Macdonald began his career at Barclays Bank before moving to Automatic Business Copiers. More recently, he was head broker in Barclays’ asset and sales division, where he oversaw a growth agenda that doubled the level of activations and portfolio worth.

W.P. Carey
The investment firm has hired Greg Butchart as director of its Dutch subsidiary, heading the international asset management transactions team.

Prior to joining the firm, Butchart was a director in Lehman Brothers’ real estate lending group. He also previously worked for Jones Lang LaSalle as a senior surveyor in investment and corporate finance, during which time he was seconded to LaSalle Investment Management and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.
