The consulting and outsourcing business has appointed Monica Santiago as head of its health and benefits business in the UK.

Santiago was previously chief operating officer for Mercer’s health and benefits business in Europe and, prior to that, was business leader for Portugal. She takes over her new London-based role from David Levey, who becomes head of health and benefits for the EMEA region.

Barclays Wealth
The wealth management firm has hired eight new experienced financial planners.

Claudine Fondis, Amanda Alexander, Carlton Crabbe, Nick Keenan, Simon Bullock and Dan Barnes join the London office, while Stephen Denning joins the firm in Birmingham and Gillian Cambridge in Leeds.

Crabbe, Keenan and Bullock will be responsible exclusively for providing financial planning advice to high net worth clients.

The provider of exchange traded products has appointed Stefan Garcia, Ludovic Djebali and Holger Schmid to its pan-European marketing team.

Garcia is responsible for broad European marketing and distribution and joins from ETF Securities. Djebali, tasked with covering French-speaking countries, joins from Lyxor Asset Management, while Schmid will be responsible for distribution to Germany and Austria, having previously worked at UniCredit.

HIG Capital
The private equity firm has appointed Appu Mundassery as a managing director in London, where he will lead the European distressed debt activities at Bayside, its debt affiliate.

Prior to joining HIG, Mundassery was a partner and senior portfolio manager at Highland Capital, where he was head of the London office. In 2007, he won an award for the Creditflux manager of the year.

Shed Media
The television group has named Jonathon Kemp as chief financial officer and Claire Hungate as a board member and commercial director.

Kemp has been finance and commercial director at the firm since 2004.
Shed also said Brian Park would step down from the board, though he will continue as managing director of Shed Productions.

Avarae
The rare and high quality coin investment company has appointed Tanya Maria O’Carroll to its board, effective immediately.

O’Carroll, 40, is currently a director at Hillberry Trust Company in the Isle of Man.

She also previously spent nine years working for IFG International and, prior to that, for Abacus Trust.
