Cristiano Ronaldo has rejoined Manchester United from Italian side Juventus twelve years after leaving the club for a then world-record transfer fee.

United announced the signing on their social media channels today.

Welcome 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲, @Cristiano 🔴#MUFC | #Ronaldo

— Manchester United (@ManUtd) August 27, 2021

Ronaldo’s first stint at the Manchester club lasted between 2003 and 2009, where he scored 118 goals in 292 games. He won the Champions League in 2008, scoring in the final at Moscow against Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Portuguese left for Real Madrid for £80m, a world-record transfer fee at the time, where he became the Spanish side’s leading goalscorer.

In total, Ronaldo has scored 674 club goals and 109 international goals.

There had been speculation this week linking Ronaldo with a move to United’s arch rivals, Manchester City.
