Cyber Monday will today stoke US consumer spending again, following the Thanksgiving shopping binge.

Economists will be keen to see sales figures, as they are often seen as an indicator of the US economy’s general health.

Tomorrow will include a raft of speeches from members of the Federal Reserve, including its chair Janet Yellen.

The latest manufacturing and services sector readings are due this week, and updates from the Beige Book are due on Wednesday.

The latest monthly non-farm employment data is due on Friday. Figures are expected to show US employers added 230,000 jobs in November, up from 214,000 in October, according to analysts polled by Thomson Reuters. The unemployment rate is expected to fall to 5.8 per cent last month after hovering around 5.9 per cent in September and October.
