Dalglish could be permanent boss
NEW Liverpool caretaker manager Kenny Dalglish will be a candidate for the job on a permanent basis.
The Scot is in charge until the end of the season, with director of football Damien Comolli searching for Roy Hodgson’s long-term successor.
Asked whether Dalglish would be considered, Comolli said: “The answer is yes.”
Dalglish added: “If I do really well and someone better than me comes along I will have no problem at all.
“If I can get to the end of the season, then I will probably end up as one of the longest-serving managers in the Premiership.”
Steve Clarke has been appointed as first-team coach to work under Dalglish and the former Chelsea and West Ham assistant boss was part of Liverpool’s training session on Monday morning.
Of Clarke’s appointment, Dalglish said: “It is important that we have good backroom staff and Steve certainly comes into that category.”
