Davis Cup won’t affect funding
TENNIS: Funding for the Lawn Tennis Association will not be reduced despite the embarrassing Davis Cup defeat to Lithuania last month.
An All-Party Tennis Group report criticised the governing body for a lack of performance this week, but Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe confirmed the £26m investment will continue. “[We need to] help address some of the current challenges that face the sport,” he said.
