Deliveroo is ramping up its fight against rivals such as Uber and Amazon with a new corporate service squarely aimed at business workers.

The food delivery startup will launch the new dedicated "Deliveroo for Business" service this week with British Land, Innocent Drinks, Survey Monkey and Eventbrite already on board.

It hopes to tap into the boom for eating "al-desko" while making it easier for firms to manage their client accounts and it will be available in 100 of the cities it operates in.

"Deliveroo for Business gives employees a huge variety of food to fuel their hard work, from early risers enjoying a healthy breakfast, to brilliantly catered meetings, to late-night workers wanting to treat themselves – there is something for everyone," said head of Deliveroo for Business Christine Oddy.

"It also provides full visibility and an easy streamlined expense process to make life easier for office managers and finance directors who are able to fully customise their account.”

Companies will be able to set spending limits and control times and locations for when staff can use the service.

"Having a corporate account with Deliveroo enables us to offer a benefit we know our employees will love and the system gives us the power to streamline the billing process, so it’s as easy as a couple of clicks," said chairman of British Land John Gildersleeve.

Investors ploughed millions more pounds in funding into Deliveroo over the summer, as it faces competition from the newly launched and both very well funded UberEats and Amazon's own food delivery service.
