HMV administrator Deloitte has axed 190 jobs from the business, it announced this afternoon.

The redundancies have been made in HMV’s head office and distribution network. No retail jobs have been cut and the stores remain open, Deloitte said today.

Giving an update on the potential sale of the business, joint administrator Nick Harding said: “We have been very pleased with the level of interest in the business as a going concern.”

He added: “Equally, the support received from suppliers has been very positive and has enabled us to continue trading during the administration. As a result of all of these factors, I remain hopeful we will be able to secure a future for a restructured business.”
