Digital advertising marketplace the Ozone Project has announced a new partnership with the Stylist Group as it expands its roster of publishers.

The female-focused lifestyle publisher, which will also represent the digital newspaper titles of parent company DC Thomson, will be the fifth organisation to join Ozone’s platform.

Ozone was founded last year by the Guardian, the Telegraph, the Times and Sun publisher News UK and Mirror owner Reach.

The platform offers advertisers a single access point for media space across all the titles – a potential audience of more than 44m UK adults each month.

The group said the addition of Stylist would boost its weekly reach – adding an extra half a million adults each week – while also growing its data pool to help enable targeted ads.

“We have always been very transparent about our desire to create the most effective opportunities for advertisers, and bringing forward-thinking, premium content publishers into our ecosystem can only enrich that offering,” said Damon Reeve, chief executive of the Ozone Project.

“The great content created by the Stylist Group is hugely complementary to the quality, trusted editorial generated by our founders’ titles on a daily basis.”

Ozone’s collaborative platform marks efforts by digital publishers to fend off tough competition from tech giants such as Facebook and Google.

The competition watchdog has launched a probe into the digital advertising market amid concerns about the dominance of the so-called duopoly. Ozone has welcomed the inquiry, but has also called for a so-called super regulator to oversee internet companies.

David Hayter, head of digital at Stylist, said: “The Stylist Group has always been an advocate for transparency in the digital advertising ecosystem and have found the Ozone Project to closely mirror the values that Stylist has always strived to work towards.

“I’m delighted to be able to bring a stable of quality titles into the Ozone Project alongside the four founding members.”
