Donald Trump blasts Sadiq Khan in misspelled tweet after criticism of time spent on the golf course
US President Donald Trump unleashed a misspelled rant at London mayor Sadiq Khan today after criticism of the amount of time he spends on the golf course.
Trump yesterday cancelled his trip to Poland to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the start of World War II because of the impending landfall of Hurricane Dorian in Florida.

He then played golf at his private club in Virginia.
“He’s clearly busy dealing with a hurricane out on the golf course,” Khan told Politico.
Trump fired back today on Twitter saying: “The incompetent Mayor of London, Sadique Kahn (sic), was bothered that I played a very fast round of golf yesterday. Many Pols exercise for hours, or travel for weeks. Me, I run through one of my courses (very inexpensive).
“President Obama would fly to Hawaii. Kahn should focus on….knife crime, which is totally out of control in London. People are afraid to even walk the streets. He is a terrible mayor who should stay out of our business!”
Trump deleted the original tweets and tweeted the attack out for a second time with Khan’s name spelled correctly.
Khan also criticised Trump for emboldening fascists and retweeting racist tweets.
“These people have been inspired by mainstream politicians who subscribe to their point of view,” Khan said. Trump “is a guy who amplifies racist tweets; amplifies the tweets of fascists; says things that are deeply objectionable. If I don’t stand up and call that out I think I’m doing a disservice to Londoners who chose me as their mayor.”

Trump and Khan have been locked in a feud since the President was a candidate in 2016, when the mayor called Trump’s views on Islam “ignorant”. Khan’s intervention caused Trump to challenge Khan to an IQ test.
In June Trump branded Khan a “stone cold loser” in a tweet just minutes before touching down in the UK to start a state visit.
The mayor’s office was contacted for comment.
