Donald Trump is just one point behind Hillary Clinton in newest national poll
Let it never be said that 2016's US presidential election wasn't interesting.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is apparently closing the gap on Hillary Clinton in the latest national poll.
An ABC News/Washington Post poll had the Democratic Presidential candidate just one point ahead of Trump, as the timing of an FBI announcement into emails proved controversial. Clinton had enjoyed a 12 point margin last week.

The FBI announced it was investigating emails potentially linked to Hillary Clinton in a fresh probe, and the Justice Department has now confirmed it has a warrant and will begin searching the computer believed to contain thousands of newly discovered emails belonging to Huma Abedin, an aide to the Democratic presidential candidate.
But law enforcement officials told CNN the FBI stumbled on emails from the Clinton aide weeks ago. FBI director James Comey didn't disclose the discovery until Friday, prompting questions as to why the information was kept under wraps until less than two weeks before the election.
Emails from Abedin are believed to have been found on the laptop of her estranged husband, former congressman Anthony Weiner. Devices belonging to both Abedin and Weiner were seized in an investigation into whether he sent sexually explicit emails to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina.
As there are reportedly 650,000 emails to comb through, it's unlikely investigators can give a verdict on them before election day.
Now the Democratic leader in the US Senate says Comey may have broken the law by revealing the bureau was investigating the emails.
Harry Reid accused the FBI director of violating an act which bars officials from influencing an election.

"Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law," Reid said in a a letter, referencing the Hatch Act, which bars officials from using their position to influence an election. He also accused Comey of withholding "explosive information about close ties between Donald Trump, his top advisers, and the Russian government".
"The public has a right to know about this information. I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public," Reid said.
