Donald Trump names chief of staff and chief strategist
President-elect Donald Trump has this evening named two senior members of his White House team.
Stephen Bannon, the chief executive of Trump for President, will be chief strategist and senior counselor to the President, while Reince Priebus, republican national committee chairman, will be chief of staff.
"I am thrilled to have my very successful team continue with me in leading our country," said the business tycoon and new president-elect. "[Bannon and Priebus] are highly qualified leaders who worked well together on our campaign and led us to a historic victory.
"Now I will have them both with me in the White House as we work to make America great again."

Bannon thanked Trump for the opportunity to team up with Priebus again, hoping for a repeat of the "very successful partnership on the campaign".
Priebus said it was "truly an honour" to be appointed Trump's chief of staff. "He will be a great President for all Americans," he added.
Bannon and Priebus will also lend a hand to vice president-elect Mike Pence as he chairs Trump's transition team in run up to his inauguration in January. Other recognisable names on the presidential transition team executive committee include Eric and Ivanka Trump, Ivanka's husband Jared Kushner and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.
