England into quarter-finals
RUGBY SEVENS: England will play Samoa in the quarter-finals today after seeing off Australia 21-19 to claim top spot in Group D.
Former Saracens winger Dan Caprice scored two tries as Ben Ryan’s men clung on for a hard-fought and unexpected victory.
The win looked set to see them face Kenya in the last eight but instead they will face the more daunting prospect of No1 seeds Samoa, who lost 12-10 to the East Africans in their final group fixture.
Scotland and Wales also made the quarter-finals and will take on South Africa and New Zealand respectively. The semi-finals and final are also scheduled to be played today.
