Eurozone unemployment climbs to new high of 12.2 per cent in September

Eurozone unemployment has risen to 12.2 per cent in September, while last month's figure of 12 per cent has also been revised up to the same level.

Economists had expected unemployment to stay flat at the unrevised 12 per cent level. Unemployment in the European Union as a whole stood at 11 per cent in September.
