Extinction Rebellion blocks Bishopsgate as protests hit the City
Extinction Rebellion temporarily closed down Bishopsgate in both directions today after protesters moved into the City.
The road, which dissects the City and is directly outside Liverpool Street Station, was the latest to be affected by activists on their fifth successive day of protests.

Police were forced to close off the road to traffic temporarily while protesters took to the streets.
It comes hours after the activists blocked the entrance to BBC’s Broadcasting House.
The Metropolitan Police have told Extinction Rebellion they risk arrest if they are not protesting within a designated zone in Trafalgar Square.
As of last night, 1,112 people had been arrested by the authorities.
Extinction Rebellion plans to continue protesting over the next nine days.

Yesterday activists unsuccessfully tried to shut down London City Airport, with one activist gluing themselves to a plane for half-an-hour.
It is believed they are no longer planning a three-day effort to disrupt the airport, however.
