F1: Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes team member robbed at gunpoint ahead of Mexican Grand Prix
One of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes teammates has been robbed at gunpoint hours before the crucial Mexican Grand Prix.
A member of the Formula 1 championship-winning team was travelling in a chauffeur-driven vehicle from Mexico City airport to the team's hotel in the City when he was targeted by criminals on Wednesday and had valuables stolen.
Both the unnamed Mercedes member and driver were unhurt in the incident, but security concerns are likely to be raised amongst F1 representatives in Mexico which returned to the Grand Prix circuit last year for the first time since 1992.

"A team member was robbed while travelling from the airport towards the city on Wednesday when in heavy stationary traffic," said a Mercedes spokesperson.
"Wallets and watches were taken and there were no physical injuries, but they were a little shaken up for obvious reasons."
The Mexico Grand Prix promises to be a crucial weekend for Mercedes who could see their driver Nico Rosberg clinch the 2016 Championship.
The German will secure the title if he wins and Hamilton, whom he currently leads by 26 points, finishes 10th or lower.
Hamilton suggested he is ready to take it to the wire in an impressive performance in first practice yesterday with the fastest time.
