Commuting: Five National Rail services are provided every hour from Tunbridge Wells station to London Charing Cross, taking 55 minutes.

Education: Most famous for top boys’ boarding school Tonbridge School, Beechwood Sacred Heart School is also a good independent school in the area. Groombridge St Thomas Church of England School and Claremont Primary School are good primary schools with outstanding marks from Ofsted.

Crime: Figures are significantly lower than the national average, particularly for violent assaults.

Restaurants and pubs: Thackeray’s is a multiple award-winning restaurant that serves gourmet French cuisine. Elsewhere, Tunbridge Wells has some good Indian and Bengali restaurants such as The Spice and Bengal Brasserie. The Grove Tavern is a traditional pub frequented by friendly locals with a good selection of beers.

Leisure: The Pantiles is a gorgeous shopping area with arts, fashion and all sorts of food. Green spaces are abundant: Dunorlan Park is the town’s largest. In 2003, it underwent a restoration and is now listed as a Historic Park.
