EAT CHEAP IN BATTERSEA
The Fish Place, the recently-opened high-quality seafood restaurant on Bridges Court Road in Battersea – which uses the nearby heliport to fly in fresh catches from the coast most days – is offering a rather splendid deal for those whose wallets need a bit of a New Year respite. From 25-30 January diners will be able to pay whatever they think their meal is worth. The guest who pays nearest to the real price will win a free meal. The Fish Place, Vincentia Court, Bridges Court Rd, SW11 3GY. www.thefishplace.co.uk; tel: 020 7095 0410.

A TASTE OF MALAYSIA AT WESTFIELD
Malaysia Kitchen, a campaign by the Malaysian government to spread the word about the country’s cuisine, is hosting a winter market at the Westfield shopping centre on 22 January, with a range of dishes and ingredients to try. This follows the Malaysian Night Market that took place in Trafalgar Square last September. www.malaysiakitchen.co.uk

ROCKET’S HEALTHY COCKTAILS
Classy restaurant chain Rocket, which has branches in the City, Mayfair and Canary Wharf, is helping out those needing to cut the post-Christmas calories with a range of healthy cocktails for January. These include a green tea and mint daiquiri, a raspberry and beetroot margarita, and an orange and carrot martini. For more information visit www.rocketrestaurants.co.uk.
