Football betting: Tigers to roar to Wembley win over Wednesday
The riches of the Premier League are on offer at Wembley on Saturday, but only one of Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday will be able to pocket them.
The Championship play-off final is now said to be worth £200m to the winner – and expect drama and nerves aplenty as Yorkshire descends on north London.
Hull finished nine points ahead of Wednesday over the season, and secured their place in tomorrow’s final with a 3-2 aggregate win over Derby County.
Steve Bruce’s side led 3-0 at the halfway mark of the tie and were almost upset as the Rams roared back in the second leg, but they were able to hold on at the KC Stadium.
There were no such scares for Wednesday, who came into the play-offs as the sixth-placed outsider.
However, a 3-1 win over Brighton means the Owls are one game away from ending a 16-year Premier League hiatus.
By contrast, Hull only slipped out of the top division last season and boast a side packed with Premier League experience.
Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez, who cost £10m from Palermo, has 22 goals in all competitions this year.
He is backed up by a squad of whom the majority reached the FA Cup final on the same ground in 2014.
